Having vacuumed (I hate vacuuming my stairs), windexed, thrown out the trash, organized the CDs between my car and my rotating CD shelf, and with my load of whites agitating in the washer, I decided to see if I can pre-register online for next semester’s jujitsu class.
I just discovered that the last day of jujitsu is August 3, and the next semester doesn’t start until September 12. I’m not looking at a calendar, but isn’t that like 5 weeks of nothingness? OMG, am I ready for that much free time? *hyperventilating*
I suggest taking up running again! Or do you already do that frequently?
Ooooooooooor, do what I do, oh yes, that’s right, play video games! Make that Gamecube get to good use.
We’ll find something for you to do Cindy, I’m sure there’s something!
What other hobbies do you have? Hmm… you could also practise jujitsu on you’re own right?
Running is an excellent idea, Mark. I have all but stopped running. I can get up and do a 3-miler at any given time, but it’s not as comfortable a run as it used to be. I should train up to 6 miles before the next class. That’s a great goal. I can also hit the weights again. And my body could use the time to heal.
My GameCube is put away. Haven’t touched it since March.
As for practicing jujitsu alone, it’s hard w/o someone to spar with. The instructor once said, “Keep practicing at home, practice on your spouse, if you don’t have a spouse, borrow someone else’s.”
If I lived in Cali, your GameCube would not be put away, I would come over every day to challenge you in Donkey Konga (which I still haven’t played! well, other than a demo).
You could spar with “you know who” and “accidentally” hit him for real. 😉
I plan to spar with SOMEONE. This stuff’s too good not to kick someone’s butt with. j/k
But isn’t sparring like you don’t actually hit them? Maybe I’m thinking Karate, where you kick near their head. Is Jujitsu somewhat like Judo with plenty of throws?
Judo and karate came from jujitsu. Jujitsu was the “secret art” of the Samurai used in the early 1600s to control the population w/o killing them. There are a lot of throws.
