As of 11:45 a.m. this morning, “Wilco” put up a hit counter for me, just for my curiosity, so I get to see how many hits I have on my site as of that time. Thanks, Wilco! Let’s see…97 visitors in the last 2 hours. (It’s on the right under the last sidebar box.)
I don’t even know why this information has any importance. Curiosity kills cats, so it’s a good thing I’ve got 9 lives.
Is each ‘refresh’ considered as one count?
How much it takes to kill 1 life? *wink*
I’m not sure what counts as one hit. And it takes A LOT to kill one life, thanks for trying.
I did a little experiment. Each ‘refresh’ does contribute to one count. So it’s not that precise to know how many visitors you have.
Thanks for bursting my bubble. And I thought I was popular. Heh.
Bursting one bubble won’t even kill one life. Plus you have so many bubbles flooting and on top of that 9 lives to go, hehe, you can afford that, definitely! 🙂
I like that. I totally just pictured that old Nintendo video game, “Bubble Bobble.” Oh, how I miss those little dinosaurs with the tapping tails! I have the game music playing in my head right now. And I can hear the sound effect of the bubble being blown from the dinosaurs’ mouths.
Oh, hehe, glad that you like my corny jokes or… you just like the bubbles??
You play Nintendo? Something new to discover, haha. Thought that you’re not so much of a comp game person. Ah, better senses next time.
I was insanely hooked in Nintendo from junior high to mid high school. Intellivision before that (before your time). Atari before that. And then I went thru my Playstation then GameCube phase after college. It’s seriously such a waste of time when you’re hooked on a video game, tho. Countless hours spent over-focused on one goal, depending on the game – to pass a certain level, a certain score, rescue a princess, play the bongo without slapping myself in the face.
wow you really are a popular person
Whoa! Did I hear Nintendo in this post?
Oh you didn’t expect to mention Nintendo in a comment and not expect me to arrive, did you?
Well now, Bubble Bobble… that game was classic! I loved it too. Now, I know I shouldn’t do this to you… but I can provide you a free “hit”, (the first one’s FREE, PEER PRESSURE!!! hahahaha). Ah, I’m just playing around. But really, here’s a link to Bubble Bobble for the NES and tons of other games, emulated on Java (which means you can run it through a browser!).

Just make sure to run this from home… not work. Or you may be out of a job for a while 😉 Enjoy! Nostalgia baby!
Hey, I read that about video games. They are SO not a waste of time. Seriously speaking though, video games are as much a “waste of time” as any other hobby. Just because everything gets done digitally, and physically nothing happens, it does provide entertainment, and that, is priceless. Sorry, I get a little touchy when people speak negatively of video games.
But hey, you had an Intellivision and an Atari? I didn’t know! Was it the 2600? The one with the joystick with a single button?
As for the hits, since it counts all the refreshes, it won’t be 100% accurate, but it’s still pretty cool. You can get a rough estimate of how many people read your page.
That last link didn’t work, so you may have to cut and paste it. The brackets didn’t get accepted as part of the link.
So either cut and paste, or just go to http://www.everyvideogame.com and click on Bubble Bobble.
It wasn’t me who had the Atari. It was my friend’s, who tried (at age 7) to use it for sexual leverage. A la “If you don’t [kiddish sexual favor], then I’m not gonna let you win at Atari.”
Men. I’m glad I’d never been one to fold under peer pressure. I go the other way.
Is that peer pressure comment referring to my Bubble Bobble offer? Or is it referring to the kiddish sexual favours?
Did you play Bubble Bobble?
