Due to a comment I recently received from a stranger who inadvertently got a hit on this blog while doing a Google search for a different topic, I think I need to state this for people like this woman who apparently turned something I wrote about my experience and my opinion about that experience into a knife, turned the knife on herself and stabbed her heart with it, then decided to write a scathing comment about how I figuratively stabbed her with my post.
1) my opinion’s not WRONG like this woman suggests, it’s how I feel and I explain the logic behind it on the posts
2) I’m not selling anything and no one’s paying me to write so I think I can write whatever I damn well want to, especially if it’s honest
3) it’s a FREE access site so if you don’t like it, don’t read it!
I think your blog is pretty darned high on the google search list for some reason. I was surprised how easy I found it myself.
But hey this is your blog. You can write whatever you want (and should). I can’t believe someone had the nerve to try to blame you for their own problems.
Oh well.
Well put. Thank you!
cindy, i was reading your blog and stubbed my toe. i blame you for my toe getting stubbed. you are so mean.
Well, it wasn’t exactly like that, Wilco. More like she claimed my ignorance is responsible for the reason more women don’t breastfeed.
More women don’t breastfeed because they themselves are ignorant. Hello.. it’s 2006 people.. go educate yourself. If you don’t breastfeed, it’s your own damn fault. It’s perfectly normal in the US to cover up your boobies with a blanket while breastfeeding in public… European countries are more free with it. Don’t worry chica.. someone pee’d in her cheerios!!
Breastfeeding is a touchy subject for some people. Some people who breastfeed are kind of militant about it. I got a lot of flack for it because people thought my daughter was underweight or not healthy because she wasn’t as large as formula fed babies. Before I breastfed my daughter I thought women who didn’t breastfeed were lazy or ignorant. After I began breastfeeding I understood why a woman would choose not to do it and I didn’t judge them. It’s actually quite a commitment, much more than bottle feeding. Having said all that, I think if I was that lady on the plane I probably would have either waited until the plane took off or used a blanket to cover myself (like what you said).
