Can you tell I was a bit cranky in my last post? Almost as soon as I was done, something came in to cheer me up. My Zaino crap has arrived! Yay! UPS is awesome. Now if I can only squeeze out some time to wash and Zaino my car this weekend. Maybe after the run, after visiting my parents.
Ok, so I was expecting to have the day off today so I got to sleep around 4:00am yesterday. I got a call at 8:00am — my dad lost his keys to the car (he works night shift).
So I had to get up and drive in rush hour to L.A. to get him his keys argh. I just got back. I’m going back to sleep!zzzzz
By the way, I dont think you can “Squeeze” Zaino in on the first application. Keep in mind what you have to do:
1) Wash with dawn.
2) Dry the car.
3) Claybar the car.
4) Wash off / rinse off the claybar stuff
5) Dry the car.
6) Apply the Z2
7) Remove the Z2.
(Recommended but not necessary)
8) Apply The Z6
9) Apply the Z2 again.
10) Remove the Z2
After this process, you can just use Z2 after you wash your car. But the first time is always a bitch to get rid of all the old wax and clean off any surface contaminents with the clay bar.
Doing it right will make a big difference in the end result so I wouldn’t try to rush it! Give yourself…. 4 hours to do the whole job if you work real fast.
EEK!
You know I’m going over to your house so you can give me a tutorial the first time, right?
Lol, ok that’s fine. Just make sure to set aside enough time 🙂 Once you start the process you really can’t stop until you finish.
(Since your car is completely unprotected after the first step) and wont be protected until the last.
All right! Fine! I’ll see you at 4 a.m.. I gotta give you your Zaino, anyway.
Lol. The funny part is I might actually still be awake at the time depending on what day it is!!!!!
By the way, did you go and buy towels / wash mits / etc yet?
No I didn’t. Zaino seems to recommend large cotton terrycloth bath sheets for drying. A car buff bailiff came in here a couple of hours ago to check out the Zaino stuff (he’s the one that’s into Adam’s) and he strongly suggested microfiber.
Yea, for some reason Zaino had a problem with microfibre from a bad manufacturer so he is not recommending it.
He basically said if you get the good stuff you are fine. IF you get the bad stuff you get swirl marks.
If you can get a nice microfibre that should be good. It will shed less than terry cloth (actually not at all). I had a problem with my terry cloth towels shedding lint everywhere. But they are at least consistent and soft.
If you ever need so cheering you are always welcome to come over and get some kitty lov’n. It beats waxing! 🙂
Gosh, that’s nice of you to offer your kitties, Vanessa! And I’m sure you’ll enjoy the nice Zaino scent on your cats once I’m done buffing my car with their fur.
