I haven’t worked out since last Friday, so this being a long weekend, today was spent walking around at Disneyland and California Adventure, we got back in the late afternoon, and then the rest of the evening was spent Zainoing Mr. W’s car. That car looks niiiiice! A damp terrycloth bath towel slid across the hood and fell off. Of course, through the entire process, even tho I told him I’d do the whole thing myself, Mr. W kept complaining about his labors. I said, “Oh, you’ll feel better when everyone’s admiring your car at work tomorrow. And they’ll say, ‘Gosh, I wish MY wife/girlfriend gave enough of a crap to wash, detail and polish my car for me!’ And you didn’t even have to buy the products!” In the end, I asked doesn’t he have this great sense of accomplishment now with this great looking car that’s gonna end up blinding people on the freeway tomorrow? No, he said disgruntledly. He’d rather pay to have the car washed for him, and he doesn’t expect to ever do this again. I bet he’s gonna take that a car to an automated carwash and have the crap scratched out of it, even tho we just spent hours claybaring and polishing it (3 layers with Gloss Enhancer Spray in between!) with the Z5 swirl remover polish. =P Well, if he doesn’t, this polish job lasts 6 months and all he needs to do between now and then is to wash it with a mild car wash and spray a mist of Z6 anti-static sunscreen Ultra Clean Gloss Enhancer Spray on it. How hard is that?!
*Sigh* I’ll end up doing it when I wash my car, I bet.
Hey I’m curious how the car turend out. Was the claybar more effective for the older car? Did the swirl remover work well? I never really had to use it since i have light colored cars that I wash carefully. Although now the mustang is getting swirls on it since I started taking it to the carwash.
I need to do this zaino, considering I bought a black vehicle a couple months ago… and we know that swirls show much more on a dark vehicle.. You need to be their spokeswoman
James – The claybar definitely picked up some crap. Because it’s an older car, I could hear and feel some black stuff popping off, and when I look at the claybar after rubbing a part, it’s got stuff embedded in it and it’s discolored. Hmm. Maybe I should’ve tossed the claybar. As for the swirl remover, the parts of the paint that Mr. W didn’t previously rub with big long broad strokes with an abrasive rubbing compound look beautiful. Deep wet shine, mirror effect. But the areas that are scratched to death still look smudgy, like someone with oily hands ran a few fingers over an area. The car as a whole still looks freaking amazing. Like a glossy show car. It really exhibits all the dimensions of color in the pearlized dark paint, and after the 3rd coat of Z5 the swirly spiderweb scratches are gone. I realized yesterday that I left my California Dry Blade at your house.
Jordan – I know, I should get royalties! But the fact that I have no incentive to advertise for anyone makes my testimonials more earnest. It’s all about what I’ve tried and how I feel about it.
Hey Cindy,
I’ll try to look for the Dry Blade. I need to get you your DVD back anyway too. So you used o3 coats of Z5? No Z2 on top of it?
James
I mixed 2 ounces of Z5 polish with the ZFX Accelerator, thinking that his car’s bigger than mine and we used almost 2 ounces on mine. But with his, I still had half an ounce left over after 3 coats! So I was not gonna waste more Z2.
If you ever want more practice or feel like a good workout, you can always Zaino my car! 🙂 I was just about to put “j/k” after that sentence and decide to hold off for now.
HA!
Unless I can borrow your kittens as polishing cloth to remove the wax. I’m sure they won’t scratch the paint. Altho they’d probably scratch ME…hmm…
Psstt.. Vanessa make sure you CHARGE cindy for Zainoing your car. Its kind of like a gym workout for her and she has to pay for the gym…. so why not for this? 🙂
Oh yeah, and that reminds me, James, you still need to pay me for YOUR Zaino workout. Or you can just pay Vanessa directly and I won’t have to deal with the transfer of hands.
Uhm. Zaino workout? Who ? Where???
Uhm.. Hey thats a cool bobble head you have on your site!!!!
I don’t think my kitties would like me signing them up as polishing cloth. They would do something terrible to get back at me like poop on my side of the bed. But I called Dodo and he said he would gladly be my polishing cloth in exchange for catnip!
*gasp!* What’s wrong with Dodo, selling his body for some herbs?!
What can I say? I carry high quality stuff!
after reading your numerous blogs about washing your and your man’s car, i am almost tempted to have you wash mine too. almost, but the thought of asking you tires me out.
[looking around stealthily] He’s on to me…
I asked first…
I can’t remember who asked first…there’s been various forms of asking for so long, in person, via email, on the phone, on the blog…
I never thought I’d be a manual labor freak, but I SO want to wash and Zaino my car again. I think I’ll just put a layer of Z2 on this weekend. It’s supposed to rain toward the end of the week.
Are you kidding me? You are going to Zaino your car again?? Can you come by and wash and Zaino mine too!!?!?
Well I guess you can put on that third and final coat!
By the way you dont have to use the ZFX this time if you are willing to wait 45mins-60mins to dry.
I suppose I should Z2 both cars this time.
