Jordan - gtts? Well, the nurse who did call me back said that the prescription the original doctor gave me works on 99% of cases, but that if I wanted Zymar, the doctor on-staff has agreed to co-sign on the ex's prescription for me, since Zymar IS an eyedrop that Kaiser does prescribe on the regular. So I left work early, drove my prescription in, and the doctor did that for me. There was ONE bottle of Zymar left in the pharmacy and I got it for my $10 copay minutes before closing. (Good thing, cuz Cipro at a local drugstore was over $50.)

for opthalmologist guy to say the eye gtts won't work is BS...there are several different types of eye drops to use (depending on viral/bacterial causes) also think of sleeping on your side. goop drips out of one eye and goes to the other (plus your hands) also spread infection...most eye infections go from one eye to the other...take the drops.. they do help. Sometimes it takes up to 7 days to get better... You have a full blown nasty cold / infection... it'll take a little time to get you better.

k - the cure for all those problems would be a bullet to the head. Not that I thought about it. Much.

Vicky - 1. He read about my body becoming the new party house of bacteria on my blog and called me at work earlier this morning to fax me a prescription, then explained the medication stuff to me.
2. He said the same thing you did, minus the reference to Glenn. The redness is NOT alleviated, Kaiser isn't making this outside-prescription stuff very easy on me (I've made a few calls to them already), so his modified suggestion is he'd call in a prescription for Cipro to a local pharmacy and I'd just pick it up for like $30. It would've been nice if Kaiser could take care of my Zymar for $5, but it's better than my paying $70 for Zymar at an outside pharmacy.

1. Why are you talking to the bad ol' optometrist?
2. Sulfacetamide is standard for Kaiser. They use old drugs that don't work, hoping it will. If it doesn't work you have to go back to them 3 days later and get a hole cut out in your knee (haha, i.e. Glenn). Zymar is a little over-kill though. Is the redness clearing from your eyes at least?
