I didn’t even notice it till now, but my blog is 4 years old this month! Happy birthday, bloggy. Mike (“wilco”) brought it into existence June 1, 2005, but my first post was June 3. It’s odd to read some of the really old stuff and see that I’ve come full circle and even recently had some of the same feelings. I think I’m at a pretty decent place now, though. And like in June, 2005, I am inspired to DO stuff. I’m a little bummed to see some of the stuff I had on my list then that I still am unable to cross off, but I think my list now is more realistic. For example, instead of getting a Honda street bike, I’m getting a mountain/road hybrid bicycle. Much healthier. I’m back to wanting wholesome activities in my life — camping, hiking, biking, and now I add kayaking to the list. And I can’t say there was NO progress in my life. In the last 4 years, the blog holds evidence that I’ve…
* picked up a martial art, and stopped going to the martial art.
* picked up belly dancing, and stopped going to belly dancing.
* got certified in mixology.
* made some brand new lifelong friends — who says that once you’re in your 20s, you’ve already got everyone in your life that you’re gonna be close to? Right, Vanessa, Josh, Ann, Mike, Christi, Brigitte, Jordan? I probably left some people out.
* reconnected and bonded tightly with some old friends, who’ve grown up a lot.
* picked up a godson.
* ran my first half-marathon.
* dated some weird and wonderful people, and married one.
* bought my second house
* cured Dodo’s eye issue and got him out of his cone for the first time since 2001 (the new vet helped a little, too. 🙂 )
* checked Cancun, Hawaii, Florida, the Caribbean, off from the will-visit list
…and most recently, got my first speeding ticket; got my first parking ticket.
This month, I will hit the 1/3-century mark.
thanks for the shout out!
my faves are the one where dodo finally got out of his cone, and that you dated weird/wonderful people and married one – but i can not tell which category you were referring to for the one u married? hehe
I often can’t tell, either. =)
Happy B-day Cindy’s Wprld Blog! How exciting… 4 years! I remember when I first got the address to your blog I went and read a lot of old post. I think it’s great to have these memories written down and friends find them handy too. It’s funny I have friends for some odd reason will not comment, but email or text me saying they had to reference a date and/or event or comment that way. So are you going to start a new “to-do list”?
When I used to be more regular w/my blogging, this was a valuable resource when I get weird charges on my credit card statement. “What the hell is this? What did I do that day? Lemme check my blog.” I have a lot of readers who have NEVER commented. I wish they would — I wonder who they are and how they found me. (I can see their existence on my stats.)
I do have a new to-do list. See my posts from earlier this month, June 15 and June 5.
Happy Birthday Cindy’s World. I have enjoyed reading you for the past 3 years.
Hope the next 4 allow you to mark a lot off your to-do list.
Wow, has it been 3 years?! How time flies.
Thanks, Flat Coke! =)
Happy Birthday to Cindy’s World! Didn’t realize I’ve been a reader for 4 years. Keep writing. 😛
I didn’t realize you’re still a reader! Great to see you on here again!
Happy B-day I have been reading for more than 3 years (before I left Norwalk). I don’t always comment, but always read.
Thanks so much for your continued loyalty, Bryan! I didn’t realize you were still keeping up with my life. =) You know I love comments, so always feel free.
Happy Belated Birthday Blog!!!! I’m so late.
Better late than never. (Such as this response.)
