I’m back from a weeklong+ roadtrip from home to Vancouver, Canada and back! Gosh darn if the pants I packed and wore at the beginning of the road trip aren’t snugger now, 11 days later. And the doctor said that the baby is too small for me to feel moving around, but I feel deep nerve twinges and muscle twitches, the latter kind of like an air bubble going through the intestine (sorry to imply gas), and I know they’re involuntary cuz they happen when I’m not doing anything. I’m not looking forward to clothes-shopping, but I’m estimating that I have about a week or two left in these regular slacks. That gives me enough time to go into denial and procrastinate another few days. Weight gain is still minimal-to-none at this point, 14 weeks in, but my body dimensions are changing so I’m doing my best to keep stretch marks at bay with daily cocoa butter slatherings. I’ll post road trip stuff soon.
Some quick highlights:
* bought my first baby item (well, item-and-a-half) at Pike Marketplace in Seattle, WA
* found future dream retirement community in Ashland, OR
* over Vancouver, Canada. Over.it.
* enjoyed time spent with NorCal friends, and discovering a long-desired treat: Magnum Bars (Had fun with that one on the social networking site.)
* had a very different homecoming this time compared to the last one upon our return from Italy.
Did you get some awesome photos with your nice camera? Can’t wait to see!!
I heard my cousin talking about Magnum bars, I’m going to have to find them!
Were you sheepishly opening the front door when you got home? Hopefully that kind of homecoming will never happen again!!
what was the baby item (and a half) that you bought?
what do you mean you’re over vancouver? did you not love it? how come you hate all the places that i love? does that mean we should never vacation together? boo 🙁
yay for happy homecoming 🙂
Welcome back!!! Can’t wait to see pictures of your trip and very happy that the stepson didn’t go all crazy this time. Glad he learn his lesson 🙂
Flat Coke – neither I nor Mr. W brought our cameras. We just took photos with our cell phones. I did open the door a little pensively, especially since we didn’t tell the stepdaughter exactly when we’d be coming home, but the place was miraculous. I think it was cleaner than when we’d left it.
flip flop – I’ll post about all those things in future posts. 🙂 What do you mean, “all the places” that you love? Where else?
Vanessa – well, the stepson no longer has a key to our place, and we changed all the locks anyhow. But I believe that he did learn his lesson regardless.
You can put the pants off longer. just take a hair elastic and slip it through the button hole. Then you loop the end around the button. Voila! Instant maternity pants!! Don’t laugh, it works. I did that when I was too big for my pants but not really big enough for maternity wear.
!!! That’s genius! I was thinking I had to buy one of those fabric stomach support wraps things that they make to extend the life of regular pants, but they’re expensive just cuz it’s “specialty wear.”
