Greg had pushed me a bit to do the San Diego marathon via IM (after he invited me on here), and today I open gmail to find that my childhood friend Vicky had sent me a registration to sign up for the Los Angeles marathon. Hmm. Should I be doing marathons? Maybe training to run 23 more miles than I normally do within 3 weeks will help me drop some weight. Or drop a limb.
Run Forrest Run. Lose a few pounds for me too.
Are you trying to have me killed? People lose TOES running marathons!
Wear a yellow band and ride your bike then… what’re they gonna do? Sore butt but keep your toes.
Ride…run…oh heck…just do a tri! I’ll come down and do Malibu with you!
Status…just did 11 this weekend with about 3k of climbing! Fun!
and I still have all 9 of my toes!
A tri, eh? Sounds interesting. Tell me more! When? What activity?
Congrats on the 11 and climbing. Wait. I don’t have to CLIMB on the tri, do I? Or leap? Or crawl?
I bet you have to roll. Run. Ride and Roll. (up a mountain)
Right. The new third event in triathalons. Spelunking.
After you run the SD and LA marathons, I want you on the tour. You can dew it!
Hey Lance! Now that you’re here, I wanted to ask you whether you feel like an arse for dumping Sheryl Crow when it’s all over the news that she has breast cancer.
run, ride, and swim. malibu’s a sprint.

.5 mile swim, 18 mile bike, 4 mile run.
YOU CAN DO IT!!!
Wait. As in, I have to SPRINT for 4 MILES STRAIGHT? The longest distance I’ve ever sprinted was a mile.
I’m not a strong swimmer, would that be a problem? I mean, if I pause in the middle, is it shallow enough for me to stand up, or would I drown?
I’m sorry.. there was static on your end of the email, so your message was encrypted. But.. in the event you mentioned anything about Sheryl, HEY, are you sure I was the one that left?
I may have, I don’t know. Afterall I DID leave my wife for her. leaving her with several small children and all.. so I’m pretty much capable of anything. I’m a good guy too though! LIVESTRONG ‘eh?!
That comment took a strange, self-berating turn.
Lance did an interview a couple of years ago and was asked about leaving his wife and dating Sheryl Crow. He responded with the address to the Livestrong website, gave out cancer facts, talked about next year’s ‘tour’ and something about not hearing the question very well due to static.
I didn’t hear about that. So I take it this wasn’t an in-person interview? I don’t see why they couldn’t repeat the question and make him claim that static interfered twice.
sprint just means it’s not an olympic distance tri. you can walk if you want. as for the swim…there’s a lot of support (people on surfboards and in kayaks) so if you get tired or cramp up, they’re there to save you.
It *is* an ocean swim. That’s what I was afraid of. Jellyfish don’t like me, by the way.
Seriously, you should wear shark repellent.
WAAAAAHHHH!!!
I’m running the Emerald Nuts 5K, not the LA Marathon. I’m so not prepared for that. I *am*, however, running the San Diego Marathon in June. Come run with me!
Oh, the peer pressure.
Forrest, I think you should do whatever your body can handle… this might be good for you right now. I’d run for exercise but the little bit of asthma that I do have prevents that. Since this is a new month, I have a new plan. I have new PLANS I mean. One includes walking fast through my community at least 5x a week (with weights on of course)
You can do it?!
