Children of the 80s may remember an old commercial with the jingle “I wanna be like Mike” sung in children’s voices. I can’t remember what commercial it was…milk comes to mind for some reason. Or, like, Flintstone vitamins or something. Maybe it’s for a growth ad. And I’m not even sure which Mike they’re referring to. Michael Jordan, maybe?
Anyway, my point is, ever since Mike set up the numeric verification to comment on my site, I have not had ONE spam comment! I came back from lunch and my inbox was exactly as I’d left it! YAY! Mike is neat-o!
Of course as soon as I wrote this 2 spam comments got thru. I DON’T WANT YOUR INSURANCE OR YOUR LOANS OR YOUR PHARMACEUTICALS! I DON’T WANT YOUR ANIME PORN, IMITATION WATCHES OR YOUR ONLINE GAMBLING SITES! Just in writing this comment, I got 4 more in.
they are not actual comments, but TRACKBACKs from other blogs. i’ve disabled trackbacks. i don’t really know what they are, so don’t ask. =P
I realized that, and when I got notice of this comment from you, I was already in the blog administrative setting up spam screen-out words and disabling pingbacks. And as I was doing THAT, I got notice of 6 more spams, and just now I just got another one, so I gotta see what other words I need to blacklist.
i thought i turned off the trackbacks for you, you shouldn’t get them anymore if that option is off. if you still are, i can disable it more aggressively for you. let me know.
I just got 5 more since YOUR comment. But they’re not automatically posting anymore. They’ve been caught under my moderation filter, but I still get an email with each, requesting to moderate (and here’s another one). And I’ve disabled the command to send me an email every time something gets caught in the moderation filter, but it’s still emailing me for some reason.

I have only received one since I’ve been in the blogworld. You guys are read by more people so you’re out there more than I am… maybe that’s why? Or.. maybe it’s because Mike is sending them to you both. wink. haha
If you put “cindy’s world” in the search field of google, I come up as the 4th listed now. Scary, huh? Unless it’s not true that they come up in the order of most-frequently-hit.
Holy crap! I just checked google, and I’m now the 2nd link! I should beg Mike to put my hit counter and statistics back on. I’m curious!
