There’s something about schizophrenic Southern California weather that would wake me up with Christmas memories and, five hours later, have me running around the city in a 5K in 85 degree sun wishing for shade.
The run (with Mr. W, who’d called and invited me on his regular noontime run course) felt good, though. The breeze, at least, was cool. I hadn’t run outdoors since the Disneyland Half-Marathon in mid-September. In leaving work in my running clothes, my gym trainee (who’d laughed at me when I invited her to come jogging) drove by on her way to the gym, rolled down her window, and yelled out the car, “Call me if you need a ride! I’ll have my cell phone!”
so nice! you get to run during lunch! it’s raining in norcal. boooooo. and i have a cold. double booooo.
You have a cold? Oh no! Your last cold’s cough JUST went away after MONTHS!!
yes i know. ugh. and i just started gymming again also. in fact, that’s what made me sick. i went night running with a sore throat. =P stupid me.
i believe that this is proof positive of why i should not go to the gym. i already thing i’m allergic to the gym, but now i’m pretty convinced now that i’ll get sick if i go to the gym.
Mel – Ick. You should’ve gone running at high noon, like me. The smog would’ve been great for your throat!
We’re doing jury selection right now and a bunch of jurors are hacking up a storm. Must be a bug going around.
Wilco – Oh, you’d be fine as long as you don’t rub your eyes or lick your fingers after touching the machines and stuff. And don’t lick the machine handles, either. Come to think of it, just stop licking things that aren’t yours in general. Did you ever manage to successfully lick Diana’s face?
Touching your face / eyes etc after touching gym equipment is a good way to catch a cold i bet. I always wash up after touching the machines at the Gym.
Except this one time someone refused to let me wash my hands after a gym session! Evil.
OMG, I totally forgot about that! HAHAHA! I’m sorry! I guess now, in this context, it was pretty wrong of me to try to save that extra minute.
